The Domaine de la Mare ELAN
 
Very close (less than 3 kilometers) of the legendary beaches  of  Normandie (CABOURG, DIVES SUR MER and HOULGATE) the DOMAINE DE LA MARE ELAN is located in the city of  PERIERS EN AUGE – on the D27 road- half way between CAEN and DEAUVILLE-TROUVILLE...

This property build at the end of the XVIIIth century had her own cider press who was used to make the famous norman cider and  calvados . In 1970  the owner stopped his distillery activity and began to breed elks ( in French : élan ) coming from Canada…The elks were living on that land and used to drink in the 3 dew ponds ( in French : mares ) of the property. That’s why this place is called “ La Mare Elan”. All comfort , sleeping capacity 6 persons, 2 rooms and double bed in the saloon. All compfort kitchen and free private tennis

Nowadays the elks are gone but the press and the old thatched cottage (pure Norman style) have been renovated and we will be very happy to receive you  for some holidays in our place.
